Grand Tour of the Dolomites

Grand Tour of the Dolomites

Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa, Val Badia, Val Pusteria

This long and challenging itinerary, which will take you through some of the most famous valleys of Trentino Alto Adige, is recommended to more experienced bikers. The route is long and challenging, but will reward you with breathtaking scenery and fantastic pass roads.

You leave Trento to the north, and then take the state road that leads to Val di Fiemme at Ora.

Continue along the Avisio to Predazzo, from there follow the signs to Moena and later to Canazei, in Val di Fassa. From there, the first real pass road of the day climbs up to the Passo Sella in the midst of the spectacular Dolomite landscapes.

Arriving on the pass, you will need a break before you hit the next pass road, the one to the Passo Gardena. From there you go down to Corvara and follow through the Val Badia, which is flanked by two nature parks: the Nature Park Puez Odle on the left side of the valley and the Nature Park Fanes-Sennes-Braies on the right.

At the exit of the Val Badia turn left in the direction of Bressanone to enjoy the final part of the Val Pusteria, with its green pleasant meadows. Once you arrive in Bressanone you can choose whether to take the highway to quickly return to Trento, or continue on the Val d’Isarco state road for a longer, but still nice return.

Duration: around 5 hours

Distance: 306 kilometers
